Our club has been invited to participate in the planning process for the
landfill park. It may be a great opportunity to promote BMX / Skills /
Trials and a slope style jump park... Please come out and attend these
meetings if at all possible. Note the times make it easier for us
working folks to attend. This is a good chance for those of you
who like bigger air to come out. The landfill has 145 feet of
vertical elevation. Once again, if you want more, better trails -
come be heard! PLUS - FREE STUFF at the Meetings!!! |

Three MTB'ers showed up on a hot Saturday afternoon for a tour of the
facility. Alot of people from local Gun Clubs and Radio Remote
Controlled Airplane Clubs, plus the Disc Golf guy. It's an
interesting place, for sure. You can see some school in Port St.
Lucie, condos on the beach, from the top. Chuck Barrowclough pointed
out a very nice potential trail layout (he calls them a 'track') but I had
to agree it was a great concept (see below). Using the west side of the
mountain, and then some shaded woodlands to the west which wind around
through lakes, we could easily make a 4+ mile loop which would include the
best of both worlds and leave the rest of the park for the other groups.
This of course is yet to be determined. Much of what happens depends
upon a HEAVY TURNOUT for the next two meetings, and then some volunteers
to step forward to head up a Trail Crew for the project.
